  • Leenco and Isaias should wise-up - Biiftu G

    Both Isaias Afewerki and Leencoo Lataa gave interview to OMN in April , within a week or so span of time. I listened to both interviews respectively. What I found very interesting is why tell us details now and why did both wait for 25 years for some details. Let's forget about the details, and just concentrate on the main theme. For one, both gentlemen are losers to TPLF: Isaias was so ambitious that he thought he will lead the Horn of Africa, if not all of Africa after Eritrean independence. He liberated Eritrea, but failed to lead the Horn, let Alone Africa. In fact, he couldn't even lead Eritrea in a civilized manner; he became a tyrant dictator, and one of the worst human rights abusers of Africa. Notwithstanding, he is also a leader, he was a leader of great guerrilla fighters and a liberator of Eritrea. After independence, he was decisively defeated by TPLF and lost both economic and diplomatic advantage over TPLF. 

    How about Leenco Lataa? He lost everything: lost leadership in his beloved Ethiopia; lost leadership within OLF; and he surrendered Oromia proper to his once trusted mythological heroes--the TPLF. As he told us proudly on OMN, he has been a refugee for the past 25 years. 


    In other words, both Isaias Afewerki and Leencoo Lataa are licking their wounds. They are both blaming each other for their current misfortune for both could have changed the situation had they both wisely managed the transition in 1992. Isaias's ego was so inflated that he thought he could control TPLF and OLF and the Horn in such a way that Eritrrea would be the SOLE beneficiary. He was wrong as time has proved. Leencoo trusted Isaias and Meles more than he trusted the people he purport fighting to liberate. He was the only knew-it-all, and didn't have to talk to any person, particularly an educated Oromo, let alone take advise. As would be expected, his dream and superficial power vanished and evaporated like morning dew before he woke up from his delusion. 

    The whole blame game now was unnecessary to say the least. The past should be left to the past, for those who really care about what happened already know just about everything and do not want to learn from these two men. The verdict by scholars about those painful years will indict both Isaias and Leencoo as two leaders who failed their respective peoples. 

    What Isaias and Leencoo should and can do now is to wise-up and use their experience of the past misdeeds and design a strategy and tactic to defeat TPLF and free the peoples of Eritrea economically and Oromia politically in particular. As Oromo qeerroo demonstrated 2015/16, TPLF is now hanging by a tread. These two men can cooperate to finish up the TPLF rule if they only wise up. Oromia and Eritrea can be the stabilizing force in the Horn and Eritrea can live in prosperity with free and prosper Oromia. Eritrea may even be able to import "milk and Honey from Oromia free of duty charge. Thinking forwards is the solution, thinking backwards and blaming each other is defeatism and contributes nothing to the future of both nations. It should also be evident for the gentlemen that , with or without these two men, Oromia shall be free, and Eritreans will chose to have a democrat leader in the future.

  • ከኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ቃለ-ምልልስ በስተጀርባ – ክንፉ አሰፋ

    ጠንቋይና አፖለቲከኛ የሚያመሳስላቸው አንድ ነገር አለ። ሁለቱም ተገልጋያቸውን ለማምታታት የትኩረት አቅጣጫ ማስቀየርን ተክነውበታል።  ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ በዚህኛው – የኦሮሚያ መዲያ ኔትወርክ – ገለጸቸው ራሳቸውን ሳይቀይሩ ሌላውን ለመቀየር የተነሱ ግብዝ ነው የሆኑት።

    ይህ “ቃለ-ምልልስም” አንድ አላማ አለው። አላማውን ለማወቅ ቃላቶችን መሰንጠቅም አያስፈልግም። ግልጽ ነው።   ‘ብዙ ስላልተሰራበት’ መልዕክቱ የተጠበቀውን አላማ የመታ አይመስልም።  ቃለ-ምልልሱ የተደረገበት ወቅት፣ የተመረጠበት ሰዓት የሚሰጠን ግልጽ የሆነ ግን የተለየ ትርጉም  አለ።

    ጠያቂዎቹ በሻዕቢያ ላይ የነበራቸው የፖለቲካ አቋም ከመቅጽበት መቀየሩ በራሱ የሂደቱን ግራጫ ምስል ያሳየናል።”ሁሉን ቢናገሩ ሆድ ባዶ ይቀራል።” ይላሉ አበው።  እነዚህ ጉዳዮች ውስጥ ገብቶ መላ-ምቶችን መዘርዘሩ አስፈላጊ ባይሆንም (አንዱ መላ ምት ግንቦት ሰባት ከሻእቢያ እየተፋታ ነው የሚለው ነው)፣ ይህንን የፖለቲካ ሂሳብ ለመቀመር ግን ሮኬት ሳይንቲስት መሆን የሚጠበቅ አይደለም።

    ነቢያት በቀየሱ ሐዋርያት ገሰገሱ ነውና ነገሩ፣ ዞሮ-ዞሮ ያለፈ ታሪክ ሲደገም ነው የምናየው። ከሻዕቢያ ጋር በፍቅር መውድቁ እጅግ ቀላል እንደሆነ ከበርካቶች አይተነዋል። ከባዱ ነገር አብሮ መቆየቱ እንደሆነም ተገንዝበናል። የሰው ልጅ አንዴ ይሸወዳል። ሁለቴ ለመሸወድ ራስን ማሳመን ግን ብልህነት አይደለም። “ወደ ፊት የምንራመድ ከሆነ ታሪክን መድገም ሳይሆን አዲስ ታሪክ መፍጠር አለብን።” ይሉናል ማሀተመ ጋንዲ።

    ይህች ጎንበስ-ጎንበስ ታዲያ የቁቤው ትውልድ የአስመራን “ወዳጅነት” ፍለጋ ለመሆንዋ የፖለቲካ አቡጊዳን ለቆጠረ አዲስ አይሆንም። ጋዜጠኛ አርጋው አሽኔ በዋዜማ ራዲዮ የኦሮሞ ወጣቶች ትግል በአስመራ ስለሟሟቅ የተናገርውን ተከትሎ – ከቁቤው ትውልድ ውግዘት ደርሶበታል። ውግዘቱ ባይኖር ነበር ሚደንቀው። ውግዘቱ ወደ ተለመደው የአበቱታ ፊርማ ላለማደጉም ዋስትና የለም።

    ፖለቲካ ተለዋዋጭ ነው በሚል ብሂል ብቻ ተነሳስተን ፖለቲካውን ባልተገራ ፈረስ መጋለብ መሞከር የከፋ አደጋም እንዳለው ሳይረዱት ቀርተው ሊሆን አይችልም። በዲፕሎማሲ ሀ-ሁ “ቋሚ ወዳጅ እና ቋሚ ጠላት የለም” ተብሎ ብቻ የቅርቡን ትዝታ ወዲያ ብለው፣ በብርሃን ፍጥነት የሚጓዙበት ጉዳይም አይደለም።  ከነዚህ ሁሉ ቀደም ብለው የሚወራረዱ ሂሳቦች ይኖራሉ። ለመቀበል በመጀመርያ መስጠት ግዴታ ነውና። ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ይህንን ሁሉ ለጽድቅ እየሰሩት እንዳልሆነ ሕጻን ልጅም አያጣውም።

    ግና የኢትዮጵያን ችግር ለመፍታት የቀረው “ብቸኛው አማራጭ የትጥቅ ትግል ነው።” እየተባለ በሚነገርበት በዚህ ወሳኝ ወቅት በጦር ተደራጅተው ለአመታት አስመራ የመሸጉት ኦቦ ዳውድ ኢብሳን እብብታቸው ስር ሸጉጠው፤  ይልቁንም እነ ጃዋር መሃመድ እንደ ሸቀጥ የሚያዞሩትን የ”ኦሮሚያ አብዮት” ወደ አስመራ ለማስገባት መጣራቸው የሚደነቅ ነው።  ይህንን ለማድረግ  ቃል መግባታቸው “የፖለቲካ ዝሙት”  ብቻ ብለን የምናልፈው ጉዳይ አይደለም። በኢትዮጵያ የምትካሄደዋ እያንዳንድዋ እንቅስቃሴ የአስመራ ይሁንታ እንዲኖራት የሚደረግ ሸፍጥም አለበት።

    በኦሮሚያ ሜድያ ኔትወርክ የቀረበው ጉዳይ “ቃለ ምልልስ” ነው? ውይይት ነው?ወይንስ የኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ የአቋም መግለጫ?… የሚሉትን ጥያቄዎች ማንሳቱም ተገቢ ይመስላል። ጥያቄው ከመልሱ ሲረዝም፣ ጥያቄዎች ተጽፈው ቀርበው ሲነበቡ እና ጠያቂዎች ፈራ-ተባ እያሉ፤  አንዳንዴም በፈገግታ ሲናገሩ ከተጠያቂው ተሰጡትን የቤት ስራዎች መስራታቸውን ያሳብቃሉ።  በጋዜጠኝነት ሙያ ውስጥ ቃለ-ምልልስ ራሱን የቻለ ጥበብ እና አካሄድ አለው። ጠያቂው ከተጠያቂው በልጦ ካልተገኘና፣  ባላመነበት ጉዳይ ተጠያቂውን መሞገት ካልቻለ …ነገሩን ቃለ-ምልልስ ነው ልንለው ይከብደናል። ከጠያቂዎቹ (ገረሱ ቱፋ እና ደረጀ ሃዋዝ) የሚሰነዘሩት ጉዳዮች በሙሉ ስለ ኦሮሞ እና በኦሮሚያ የተቃኙ ናቸው። ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ የሚሰጡት ምላሽ ደግሞ ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ነው። ሁለቱ አልተጣጣሙም። ፕሬዝዳንቱ የሚጠየቁትን ሳይሆን ማስተላለፍ የፈለጉትን ነገር ነበር የሚናገሩት።

    ህዝባዊ አመጹ የሃገሪቱን ፖለቲካ ለወራት እያናወጠው በነበረበት ግዜ፣ ኦቦ ዳውድ ኢብሳ አስመራ ላይ ተኝተዋል። ሃገር ሲደበላለቅ፣ እሳቸው ልክ እንደ ሕጻን ልጅ ተጋድመው ከባድ እንቅልፍ ወስዷቸው ነበር። የሱናሚው ማዕበል ነበር ከዚያ ለ20 ዓመታት ክተኙበት ከባድ እንቅልፍ ቀስቅሶ ያነቃቸው። ከእንቅልፋቸውም ሲነቁ እንዲህ አሉ።

    “ሕዝባዊ አመጹን እየመራሁ ያለሁት እኔ ነኝ!”

    ይህ አነጋገራቸው ከፌስ ቡኩ አርበኛ ከጃዋር መሃመድ ጋር ገመድ ያጓትታቸው እንጂ ለወያኔ ግን ጃክፖት ነበር የሆነለት። ይህንን ማለታቸው፣ የኦሮሞን ወገን እንዲመታ ለወያኔ ቦንብ አቀበሉት። ያንን ግዙፍ የህዝብ ንቅናቄ የኦነግን ኩታ አልብሰውና በስልቻ ልክ አጥብበው ድባቅ እንዲመታ አደረጉት።

    ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂን ገረሱ ቱፋ ስለ አመጹ ጠይቋቸው ሲመልሱ፤ “በዚያ የሱናሚ ማእበል ውስጥ የአንድም ፖለቲካ ድርጀት እጅ የለበትም። የሕዝብ በደል ለሁለት አስርተ አመታት ተጠራቀሞ በመጨረሻ ፈነዳ” ነበር ያሉት።

    ይህንን በተናገሩ ግዜ በጉያቸው አንቀላፍቶ ለታሪክ ሽሚያ የነቃው ዳውድ ኢብሳ እጅግ አሳዘነኝ። እጉድጓድዋ ተደብቃ እንደምትቁለጨለጭ ትንሽ አይጥ መሰለኝ። ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ስለ ኦሮሞ ነጻ አውጭ ግንባር የተናገሩት በዚህ አላበቃም። ሰለ ድርጅቱ በተደጋጋሚ የሚናገሩት “የታሪክ ስህተት” ጉዳይም ያስደምማል። አንደኛው 20 ሺ የሚያህል የኦነግ ሰራዊት እሳቸው መርገምት ብለው ለሚጠሩት ወያኔ አስረክበው መፈርጠጣቸው። ይህ ታሪካዊ ስህተት አሁን ውጤቱ እየታየ ሰለሆነው ጉዳይ ሲሆን፤  ሁለተኛው ደግሞ የአማራ ሕዝብ ጨቁኗል እየተባለ የሚነገረው ፍጹም ሃሰት እንደሆነ በዚህ ገለጻቸው ማስረገጣቸው ነው። ልብ እንበል። ጠያቂዎቹ ጃዋር መሃመድ ከሚመራው የኦሮሚያ ሜዲያ ኔትወርክ ናቸው።

    ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ “የገዥ ቡድን እንጂ የአማራ ጨቋኝ አልነበረም። ይህ የወያኔ ፈጠራ ነው። ይህ ዘራፊ ቡድን እንዲህ ካላደረገ መቆየት አይችልም።” ባይ ናቸው። አማራ የኦሮሞ ጠላት ሆኖ አያውቅም ከሚለው ተነስተእ፣   የአማራው ሕዝብ ሲጨቁን ነበር እየተባለ የሚነገረው ብሂል ስህተት እንደሆነ ሲናገሩ ለመጀመርያ ግዜ መሆኑ ነው። ለዚያውም በኦሮሚያ ሜዲያ ኔትወርክ።

    ወያኔ ያጎረሳቸውን ሁሉ ሳያላምጡ ጥሬውን ውጠው፣  በትላንት ላይ ለተጠመዱት ሁሉ ይህ ትልቅ መልእክት ይመስላል።

    ፕሬዚዳንቱ ይህንን የተናገሩበት ምክንያት ከጀርባ ቢጠናም፣  ምክንያቶች ቢደረደርም – ባይደረደርም፤  መራራው ሃቅ ከአንደበታቸው ወጥቷል። ለማመን እንጂ ላለማመን ምክንያት የሚፈልጉ የሜዲያው መልእክተኞችም በዚህ ጉዳይ ላይ ዝምታን ከመምረጥ ውጭ አማራጭ የነበራቸው አይመስልም። ከጀግናው ጃገማ ኬሎ ይልቅ ጃዋርን ለሚያደንቅ ትውልድ፣  ከአቡነ ጴትሮስ ይልቅ ለሊበን ዋቆ የሚያጨበጭብ ትውልድ አልሰማ ብሎ እንጂ የታሪክ ምሁራንም የሚነግሩን ይህንን ሃቅ ነው።

    በ1991 (እ.ኤ.አ) የሽግግር መንግስቱ ሲመሰረት ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ስለ አኢዮጵያ ታሪክ ሲናገሩ፣ ይህንን ተረት-ተረት እዚያው ዩኒቨርሲቲያችሁ ጣሉት ነበር ያሉት።  በዚሁ ቃለ-ምልልሳቸውም የምንኮራባቸው ኢትዮጵያ እሴቶች፤ በተለይ ደግሞ ያሃገሪቱ የሶስት ሺ ዘመን ታሪክ ተረት-ተረት (ሚት) ነው ይሉናል። ኢትዮጵያ ታሪክ እንደሌላት የሚያሳየውን ማስረጃ ግን አሁንም አላሳዩንም።

    ከኢትዮጵያ ተነጥሎ መኖር በሕዝባቸው ላይ ያደረሰው መከራ አሁንም ትምህርት የሰጣቸው አይመስልም። ላለፉት 25 አመታት በባርነት የተያዘውና ለስደት የተዳረገውን የኤርትራ ሕዝብ ችግር ችላ ብለው አሁንም ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ቅኝ ገዥነት ነው የሚናገሩት።

    በመላው ኢትዮጵያ የተነሳው ሕዝባዊ አመጽ ውስጥ የኤርትራ እጅ አለበት መባሉ ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂን አስቋቸዋል። ምላሻቸው ባሳቅ ብቻ አላበቃም፤  “ይህንን ባደረግነውና ደስ ባለን ነበር። ግን ሁኔታዎች እና የአቅም ጉዳይ ሆኖ አላደረግነውም።” ይላሉ። ካሁን በኋላ ግን እጃችንን አጣጥፈን አንቀመጥም በሚል ቅላጼ በኢትዮጵያ የሚደረገውን የመብት ትግል የመደገፍ ግደታ እንዳለባቸው ተናግረዋል። ይህንንም የሚያደርጉት ለውጡ አስፈላጊ ሆኖ ስላገኙት እንደሆነ ገልጸዋል።

    በኢትዮጵያ የሚደረገውን የለውጥ ትግል አስመራ በምን መንገድ ለመደገፍ ማቀድዋ ግልጽ ባይሆንም “የትጥቅ ትግሉ” ከትብብሩ ፓኬት ውስጥ ለመውጣቱ ግን ጨረፍ አርገውታል።

    የኤርትራ ጂኦግራፊያዊ አቀማመጥ ለትጥቅ ትግሉ ድጋፍ አስቸጋሪ እንደነበርም ኢሳያስ ሳይናገሩ አለለፉም።  የሁኔታዎች አለመምቻቸት እና የአቅም ጉዳይም ድጋፍ እንዳይደረግ አስተዋጻኦ አድርገዋል ይላሉ አይቴ ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ።

    ስርዓቱን በጦር ለመፋለም የወሰኑ ሃይሎች ወደ አስመራ ያመሩት ኤርትራ በኮሪደርነት እንድታገለግላቸው ነበር። ጦርነት ፋይዳ የሌለው መሆኑን ኢሳያስ የሚነግሩን ከሆነ ታዲያ “ካሁን በኋላ ለመርዳት” ያሰቡት ምንድነው? ለጦርነት ካልሆነ ኤርትራ መግባቱ ለምን አስፈለገ?  ሰላማዊው ትግሉም የነሱን ቡራኬ ይሻል ማለት ነው?

    ከዚህ ሁሉ የትጥቅ ትግል እና የጦርነት ወሬ በኋላ “ሁኔታዎች አላመቹምና፤ “የሽግግር መንግስት” እንደገና እንዲቋቋም ሃሳብ ሰጥተዋል።  “በ1991 ድል ተቀዳጅተናል። ያለምነው ነገር ግን ግቡን አልመታም። 25 ዓመት እንዲሁ ባክኗል፣ አሁን የምመክረው ሁሉም የሚሳተፍበት የሽግግር መንግስት እንዲቋቋም ነው።” ብለዋል። አዲዮስ!  ግራም ነፈሰ ቀኝ፣ ተከካም ተቦካ ትልቁ ዳቦ ግን እዚህ ላይ ሊጥ ሆነ!

  • Why is Dr. Asafa Jalata Lying to us?

    On Sunday, a meek and flustered Asafa appeared on a friendly radio to claim speaking about TPLF and OPDO instead of Oromo Leadership Convention (OLC). There was a problem. Dr. Asafa Jalata, Abduljelil, and Finfinnee radio all agree that he responded when asked to compare Global Gumi Oromo (GGO) with OLC. So, did he somehow hear TPLF when asked about OLC? Like most of you, we are not fond of deception. We will, therefore, outline his assertions in an unambiguous language. 

    Leadership. According to Dr. Asafa, OLC is attempting to form Oromo leaders selected from Diaspora. The allegation is not new. OLF made an official statement with this particular allegation. Proponents of Shane branch of OLF continue to level the same accusation on multiple radio programs. 

    Scholarship. The alleged scholarship recipient from TPLF is none other than Jawar Mohammed. Dr. Asafa Jalata explicitly stated, “TPLF has sent individuals on scholarship in order to divide Oromo...” Again, this particular allegation has been made multiple times. Browse the facebook pages of Shane supporters.  The rumor circulated so much that an Ethiopian media has caught on and asked Jawar Mohammed directly. 

    Nyaaphaa (enemy). The alleged prominent enemy who was preemptively  uninvited is none other than Juneydi Sado. Please browse Shane supporters’ facebook page! Here, keep in mind that it was Dr. Asafa Jalata who had Dr. Negasso Gidada speak as guest of honor (not as attendant) at OSA a few years ago. Dr. Negasso Gidada is the former Ethiopian president and one of the main architects of OPDO. 

    Ethiopianism.  According to Dr. Asafa, OLC is Ethiopianist but ODF is not.  He makes an argument that ODF shouldn’t be considered Ethiopianist. In a rather puzzling arithmetic  ODF, and by extension its partner Ginbot7 are not Ethiopianist. Amusing, ain’t it?

    This is nothing new. In 2008 when a group called OLF-Jijjirama separated from OLF-Shane, Dr. Asafa Jalata famously decried “explosion of opportunists and mercenary of Oromos.” According to him, [Arsi] Oromos brought “ignorance, passivism and fatalism” [Arsi] Oromo Elites had “low level of nationalist consciousness” and use “cheap politics of clan and religion.”   It was very clear comment at the time.

  • Eritrean president Isaias Afwerki appears on OMN

    Following a media blast by two prominent reporters (Senay G/Medihin and Samrawit Sisay), the reclusive Eritrean president goes on OMN. The two reporters alleged soldiers of Ginbot7 and OLF lived in conditions that could only be described as modern day slavery.  

    He supports Oromo and Ethiopian struggle against TPLF. 

    He promised that Eritrea would remain steadfast in its support to the Oromos. 

    Isaias described, "the people of Ethiopia firm and decisive action of expressing their objection to the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) is unprecedented in the history of the country."

    He added, "the ethnic cleansing of Oromos and Amharas by the hands of the current Ethiopian rulers gives reason to justify an all-out action against the TPLF by the oppressed majority."

    “...with all the heart aches you Mr. A.M, Odaa Xasee and your other masters are causing our nation and the pain you have caused our children because they came from you. I now Thank you guys. For showing me how strong I am."

    Dear Ex-husband and current OLF Shanee leader from my state:

    After living with you since my teenage life, we broke up nine years ago around the same times you guys betrayed and broken up with the Oromo people. I finally managed to walk away when we got divorced in 2012. I smiled! Even though it has been hard to maintain it with all Shanee leaders on my back blackmailing me day in and day out behind the scenes, not because I was a nasty person, but because I was free. The chains you and your dictators had placed around me had broken off and the weight around my shoulders had been lifted. I was a bird, ready to take to the skies, but I was scared.

    For all those years since I had arranged marriage to you in hopes for my family trying to save me from the regime's militants as young oromo girl when situation got worsened in Oromia, my family didn't realize capabilities of Diaspora undercover TPLF, they thought I would be safe from a real TPLF with you. And sent me to you putting their faith and trust in you, but, unfortunately, I was abused by you in worst case than they feared for me with Wayyaanees back home.  “Your cruelty made me feel TPLF is better than you and your group” because they didn't hide in oromo skin and killed us you not only beat me physically to the point you've almost caused me miscarriage with your first child who you have taken away from me, but taunted me mentally. You made me feel like I was the smallest person in the world and I couldn't get away, because you made me believe without you I was nothing. 

    For the years that I tried to be a wife for you hoping you would act right like a real man one day for me to develop love for you, I was sixteen years old, I was wishing for you to show me love and good times not hate, praise when I did good in school,wanted to smiles and appreciate when I made you happy instead making me your political group servant constantly serving them tea and food for hours each weekend when you're discussing who to kill directly or indirectly or what organization to dismantle instead of working for your people's liberation. I was wishing for you to wake up one day and be my man not my master. I was wishing for you to be a human being to think like lover, brother or a father that you wouldn't cut my life dreams short hoping that you would let me continue my education from where I was when I came to you while I'm with you without me begging you, I didn't think you would have a heart to waste my brain. But you've tried. You have betrayed the trust I had placed in you and the false sense of security I had in you – thinking that you were going to be my “protector” forever.

    I was constantly lying to family and friends that it was the perfect relationship when I was scared to go home and desperately trying to cover the injuries you had placed on my body. I

    could hide scars in my heart, but I had hard time to hide scars on my body, I'm thankful there is makeup to cover it though so no one would ever see it.

    I couldn't bare to look in the mirror at myself in the end. You told me so many times I wouldn't ever be with anyone else because you brought me to United States and everything I had earned belongs to you that you were with me because you pitied me, you said I didn't need to love you to be with you because you owned me, I was worthless with your kids and wouldn't go anywhere in life as long as you are a live. That's why I didn't walk away. I didn't believe I could do better with children you've dumped on me. I didn't believe I was worth anything more. To live everyday in fear has made me a stronger person and to appreciate each day I wake up and I'm not scared to be around.

    So, thank you for showing me how strong I am!

    I remember one day we when I cried because I was hurting too much while you were forcing me to do something I couldn't do. You put both your hands on my mouth and held me down until I almost couldn't breathe no more.  Then, you slapped me in the face and said that I will be in more trouble if your neighbor heard my voice. I remember you almost peed in your pant when the doctor asked me about your fingerprints on my face, and I had to lie to the doctors telling them I fell down the stairs to protect you. But thank you, because without that I wouldn't know the pain of being abused or giving a person a chance and I wouldn't be able to help others going through it.

    Couple of things & events that I would never forget though was the times you took away my phone book and planner so I cannot contact anyone, giving away all my CDs, cassettes (memories of my classmates) to my best friend without my permission because you didn't want me to listen to those kind of songs. I remember the time you ripped my necklace off my neck I got for my from my childhood best friend. The times you wouldn't let me speak with my our neighbors because you only want me to be with selective friends of your choice people I had nothing in common with; the time you have had wiretapped my phone, instilled cameras in all rooms including the restroom. You even had your best friend watch me naked while taking shower in your recording videos because you've trusted him that much to violate my privacy enough to watch my every move for you. 

    You punched me out of bed.  You didn't want me to go to school because I was a wife and didn't need to be in school anymore according to your rules. You have had broken my dad’s promise to allow me continue my education, and then, when I've decided to go to school without your permission you have followed stalking me through all school camps, my work or meeting places, called my boss, teachers, mentors warning them to stay away from your wife, it was funny how your Taxi always showed up everywhere I went coincidently. Your pathetic reasoning behind why you were there was business when I asked you. You just happened to have a customers at the same location. But I never saw you pick up any customer one day the whole time. Your responses to any of my questions was a slap across the face, pushing my head repeatedly into the bed every time I had tried to talk to you. But, thank you, because you gave me the drive to carry on with my life and prove you wrong.

    You broke me slowly over the years and I was scared of living after we got divorced. I didn't leave the house and I was scared to see you and your group’s faces around. Seeing you guys at Oromo events and meetings always gave me body chills. I wouldn't look for another relationship because I was scared I'd have to do it again. I hated myself, hated my Oromummaa because of you guys and hated myself for the lack of drive to do anything about it.

    But thank you. I'm strong now. I know to handle things. I'm determined to make a go of my life and do well. I will remember what you did to me and it will push me on. But you have to live with it for the rest of your life. It's very funny how shameless people's fabricated stories unwraps sometimes in our naive societies, instead of your group hiding. I had to hide from you and your group because while I was busy providing and caring for children you have had brought to this world filling your shoes and mine at once when you failed to man up for your responsibility, you a man who isn't capable of providing for your children is in a position of leading our freedom fighting revolution, selling our people's lives behind the scenes, trading with Eritrea undercover.  You and some of your wicked Shanee group leaders went above and beyond with false statements propaganda to ruin my reputation, and my family's name as a result, and have had stolen hundreds of thousands dollars from me. You guys thought you would break my foundation like you have had broken our country’s. I feel sorry for my people, our innocent WBO’s and our country. But, thank you for helping me realize it is you and your group that are worthless and me who is worthy.

    Thank you for the compulsive lying. I take everything with a pinch of salt now. How disgusting it was to lie about living life in prison in hands of those who are supposed to protect me, represent our organization is another matter but at least it proves it was you and your group that had the problem, not me.

    I've done well for myself. I'm in love with the best Sabboonaa oromo without you guys's permissions, I still have a long way to go and I'm fighting with my fears and anxiety everyday but I've got my life to fight for now. I have my kids and my love to live for. Not empty years of abuse.

    I'm not condoning what you or your group did, but I'm happy you guys taught me to be free and to get away from people who happened to be worse. I learned a lot of life lessons with my time with you and I know when someone isn't worth my time of day. I'm just saddened for the Oromo people who trust wicked people like you and your group to lead them and our Revolution. I never thought we have animals in human bodies to destroy lives in our societies for personal gains.

    Today, with great painful experience from within over the years and confidence, I stand in my opposition to OLF-Shanee's leadership for the oromo people. Recognizing as I do, the

    conditions in Oromo politics that have contributed to their popularity, I, nonetheless, am obligated to state my core objection clearly:

    OLF Shanee leaders visions of independent Oromia influence is wildly inconsistent and unmoored in principle for many serious legitimate concerning reasons. Their advocacy for invisible aggressively waging of Ganddummaa and gosuummaa kept our Diaspora societies busy fighting each other while our country fell under TPLF military operations causing genocide disaster in Oromia for several years. They are pocketing our fundraised money in Diaspora, and killing our innocent armies in Eritrea with starvation and murdering.

    Their decision of falsified action-less public press releases from the chairman Mr. Dawud Ibsa year after years leading TPLF to our people's neighborhoods in Oromia with their propagandas hints to kill; keeping our military forces hostage in Eritrea is lying to the oromo people at large and so on is unacceptable for the leaders of freedom fighting nation.

    Professor Asefa Jaalataa's GGO fundamentally dishonest action with GGO political campaigning is clear evidence of this includes his later attempts to deny positions he has unquestionably taken against other potential oromo leaders to retain his/their dictatorship positions utterly unfitted this group to lead or guide our people and our nation.

    For anyone who reads this letter: Please note that above mentioned concerns about Shanee leaders and their elite members is just some examples of minor issues in most homes in our society.

I have decided to take this as a lesson learnt to make wiser judgements in life and to speak about my experience anonymously hoping to be the voice for oromo women who have seemed to have lost theirs.

  • A story from Koshe

    It was only a misplaced shoe that prevented Fadila Bargicho from losing a second child when an avalanche of rubbish crushed makeshift houses, killing at least 113 people in Addis Ababa earlier this month.

    An impatient Ayider Habesha, nine, had left his older brother searching for his footwear. He headed to religious lessons in a hut next to the towering dump. Ayider was buried alive with his six classmates and teacher when a chunk of the open landfill gave way on the evening of 11 March. His body was recovered two days later.

    While Bargicho sees divine intervention at play in the incident, the collapse at Reppi landfill was an avoidable, manmade disaster.

    In 2011, the French development agency (AFD) gave Addis Ababa’s government 34.6m euros (£17.3m) to close and rehabilitate Reppi and build a new landfill site at Sendafa, about 25 miles outside the capital in Oromia state.

    Oromia has been engulfed by violence since November 2015. The unrest has been fuelled by concerns over a masterplan to integrate the development of Addis Ababa – a metropolis of about 5 million people – with surrounding Oromo areas. While federal officials insist the blueprint would mean harmonious progress, activists cast it as another land grab that would mean the eviction of thousands more Oromo farmers as the capital expands.

    The AFD funding also covers retraining for the hundreds of people who picked through the waste at Reppi for valuable items, some of whom died in the landslide.

    When Reppi was established in the 1960s, it was in the countryside. Now it is surrounded by shops and houses, which have encroached on an expanding rubbish mountain.

    Rubbish started being sent to Sendafa, rather than Reppi, in January last year. But operations were suspended seven months later after protests by local farmers, who said the Sendafa site was poisoning water and killing livestock.

    The trucks returned to Reppi, where rubbish had been dumped without being treated, compacted or otherwise managed for half a century. Authorities knew Reppi was unstable and over capacity when they resumed operations, according to Nega Fantahun, the head of the city government’s solid waste recycling and disposal project office, the responsible agency.

    “One cause is the return to Reppi. It’s not the only reason, but it’s one cause, one reason, it aggravates it,” he says of the landslide.

    The government hasn’t given up on Sendafa, a joint initiative of the city and Oromia region. But activity at the fenced-off site is limited to work on buildings and other infrastructure. Black sheeting covers a shallow bulge of rubbish to try to reduce the smell. An eight-metre high net was constructed to prevent waste blowing on to adjacent farmland but, when a gust of wind arrives, several plastic scraps soar into the air and tumble over the fence into the fields.

    In rolling farmland next to the landfill, local opposition to the project is fierce. Gemechu Tefera, 40, a farmer, says maggots from the landfill have ruined food, cattle have died from toxic water, and a dog brought a human hand back from the site. Consultation was so inadequate that residents thought the site would become an airport, the group claims. “If they come again they will have to go through us. We will continue protesting. They will have to kill us first,” says Tefera.

    The French financing included Sendafa’s construction and the closure of 19 hectares (about 47 acres) of Reppi’s 36 hectares between 2011 and 2013. Eventually, the plan is to transform the toxic site into a park. Seven hectares have been set aside for a separately funded $120m (£96m) waste-to energy plantowned by the state electricity company, which could deal with 75% of the city’s rubbish when it becomes operational later this year.

    The AFD is waiting for notification from the city government to begin rehabilitating the remaining section of Reppi. That will only begin once the site is no longer being used for dumping, says Shayan Kassim, project manager at the French agency’s Addis Ababa regional office.

    According to Kassim, consultants reported that the performance at Sendafa of the city’s contractor, Vinci Construction Grands Projets, was satisfactory and there were no irregularities in dealing with the impact on the community. Vinci worked with AFD and the authorities on improving Sendafa for a year after completion, and the government is undertaking more work following storms that caused some leakage into the nearby environment, he says.

    “We know the municipality has had some problems with the landfill during the rainy season and we hope the additional works will correct them.”

    The local administration responsible for the new landfill’s location supports the farmers’ pollution claims. Shimallis Abbabaa Jimaa took over as head of Bereke district government last year after the protests. He produced an October 2016 report from Oromia’s government that concluded water in a local well was not potable and the cause could be a river polluted by seepage from Sendafa. The area had been earmarked by the region as a productive cropping area and should not have been selected for waste disposal, says Jimaa.

    The promised improvements could mean local acceptance of Sendafa but, given the strength of the resistance, that seems unlikely, he says. “No one agreed with the project so they rose in revolt.”

  • Eritrea now a potential U.S. partner

     

    Instability and terrorism in the Horn of Africa, along with a massive conflict on the other side of the Red Sea in Yemen, threaten U.S. interests in the region.

    Deputy Director of the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center, Bronwyn Bruton, writes in a recent report, “the United States could find itself facing instability and perhaps a terror threat on both sides of the Mandeb Strait [separating Yemen from Eritrea and Djibouti], which is a critical chokepoint for the $700 billion … of trade passing annually between the European Union (EU) and Asia.”

    Bruton, who is also a Cipher Brief expert, continues, “Threats to this trade route have in recent years led the United States to pour millions of dollars into combating Somali piracy – an indication of the Strait’s importance to U.S. interests.”

    Thus, the small East African country of Eritrea becomes vital in preventing the passage of terrorists between the Horn of Africa and the Persian Gulf and maintaining its stability in an increasingly unstable region.

    “Thus far, Eritrea has repelled jihadists and proven immune to radical ideologies,” notes Bruton.

    The U.S. does not formally collaborate with Eritrea on a counterterror strategy. In fact, the U.S. has no military-to-military cooperation with Eritrea and provides no bilateral assistance to the country, at the request of the Eritrean Government, according to the U.S. State Department.

    There are a number of reasons for this. For starters, the UN Security Council, at Washington’s urging, sanctioned Eritrea in 2009 for its alleged support of terrorist group al-Shabaab and for refusing to settle a border dispute with Djibouti. The sanctions included an arms embargo and travel bans and asset freezes on certain individuals. In 2011 and 2012, UN monitors found no evidence to conclude Eritrea still supported al-Shabaab, but sanctions were extended in 2013, resulting in a two-way arms embargo.

    “We’ve [the U.S.] lifted sanctions on Sudan, and if we’ve lifted sanctions on Sudan, I cannot see why we would not want to have a better relationship with Eritrea,” Seth Kaplan tells The Cipher Brief.

    Kaplan, a lecturer in African Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, adds, “Having said that, Eritrea has sort of been made everybody’s worst example of human rights, even though I don’t actually see why it’s so much worse than other countries.”

    Indeed, the U.S. State Department lists “citing and addressing human rights issues” as one of its interests in Eritrea.

    The country has been ruled by one party – the People’s Front for Democracy and Justice, or PFDJ, which was formed out of the group that led Eritrea to break away from Ethiopia in 1991 – since independence more than two decades ago. There is no independent press, and Eritreans flee in large numbers to surrounding Sudan and Ethiopia, and even to Europe.

    The United Nations has said around 5,000 Eritreans leave the country every month.

    The UN refugee agency reported 11,564 Eritreans arrived in Italy in the first seven months of 2016 – that’s 12 percent of arrivals to Italy. In 2015, a quarter of arrivals to Italy were Eritrean.

    Mandatory national service is one of the top reasons why Eritreans flee the country. In 1995, Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki introduced compulsory military service, in which everyone under the age of 50 is required to enlist. Conscription became open-ended in 1998, at the onset of Eritrea’s two-year-long border war with Ethiopia. That means, mandatory service is now indefinite, with release from service dependent on each individual commander.

    “The refugees [in Europe] regularly cite the indefinite nature of national service as a key reason for their migration,” a senior researcher for the Horn of Africa at Human Rights Watch, Felix Horne, tells The Cipher Brief.

    The need to deal with Eritrean refugees in Europe has changed the landscape of Eritrea’s international isolation over the last couple of years. Horne remarks, “the last two years have seen increased engagement from European states, largely to curb migration to Europe.”

    The Gulf states are also showing a new interest in Eritrea, largely due to the conflict in Yemen. “The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established a military presence in Assab, Eritrea,” comments Horne.

    According to Bruton, “Asmara has formed strong strategic alliances with the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, providing a base for their counterterror efforts in the Red Sea basin.”

    In addition, China is seizing economic opportunities in Eritrea. Chinese companies are the second most prominent external investors in Eritrea, says Kaplan, after the Canadians who operate Eritrea’s Bisha Mine.

    Eritrea has “secured a series of new Chinese mining investments,” notes Bruton.

    This leaves the U.S. in the position of potentially having little influence in a more open Eritrea in the future.

    “It’s really not clear under the Trump presidency whether there will be a rethink about relations with Eritrea, and there haven’t been many signs from the Eritrean government that they are keen to start a new relationship with the United States either,” says Horne.

    Still, Kaplan says there is the possibility of a thawing of relations due to Eritrea’s role in regional stability and combating terrorism. “The fact that fighting terrorism, fighting Islamic terrorist groups, might turn out to be by far the most important goal for the new [U.S.] administration, you would think that Eritrea would be not a highly prioritized but still important partner, given its geopolitical location and its importance as a stable country in the Horn of Africa.”

    Kaplan adds, “If our primary goal in that part of the world is simply to reduce the threat from terrorism and to defang as much as possible terrorist groups and possibly, to the extent that it’s possible, to end the conflict in Yemen, certainly we would want better relations with Eritrea.”

    An Open Statement to our Viewers: TPLF Charges Against OMN and Executive Director Jawar Mohammed Will Not Deter Our Independent and Exposing Journalism

    MINNEAPOLIS – Despite the false criminal charges brought against Oromia Media Network (OMN) and its Executive Director Jawar Mohammed by Ethiopian prosecutors, OMN is not deterred from continuing to broadcast independent, nonpartisan journalism on Oromia, the largest and most populous state in Ethiopia. OMN denies any and all charges brought against it and Mr. Mohammed by the Ethiopian prosecutors.

    Our viewers should rest assured that OMN will not be intimidated by the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front’s (TPLF) clear attempt to suppress freedom of the press in a foreign country. OMN will continue its unrelenting effort to broadcast well researched and exposing journalism. OMN is one of the only truly independent news outlets broadcasting into Ethiopia.

    The Ethiopian prosecutors’ accusations against OMN or Mr. Mohammed are untrue. These charges, like many others brought against outspoken opponents of the ruling party’s regime, are purely politically motivated. Ethiopian authorities’ blatant attempt to threaten OMN, intimidate our service providers, frighten our viewers, and restrict movement of OMN staff and management will not succeed. These charges are a poorly veiled attempt to retaliate against OMN for exposing the regime’s mass killings of Oromos in Oromia and its illegal land grab of Oromo farming land surrounding the capital Addis Ababa.

    This is not the first time TPLF has targeted OMN, Mr. Mohammed or the Oromo people. Countless times since its inception on March 1, 2014, OMN’s broadcasting signal has been purposefully intercepted. The sources of jamming were consistently traced back to Ethiopia. The current baseless accusations are a mere continuation of the TPLF’s efforts to silence the only independent voice of our people.

    In fact, TPLF has gone as far as eliminating all independent media in Ethiopia by jailing, killing or expelling journalists and opposition leaders. In late 2015, the authorities arrested Bekele Gerba, deputy chairman of the Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC), Oromia’s largest registered opposition political party. Mr. Gerba and other Oromo intellectuals were targeted because of their influence over the population and their outspokenness. Security forces in Ethiopia also killed at least 140 Oromo and Ethiopian protesters and injured many more, during the people’s protest of the government’s illegal land grab of Oromo farmland outside the capital. Massive protests raged across the country in 2015 and 2016. There are countless reports of government crackdown on opposition voices and media throughout this period, which culminated in the government declaring a state of emergency and restricting internet access. During this time, the TPLF banned anyone in the country from viewing OMN broadcasts. Even the government’s own officials admitted the vicious actions of security forces. In 2016, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and the speaker of the House Abadula Gemeda publicly stated that the protesters had legitimate causes and blamed government officials for their incompetency, misgovernment and corruption. Dessalegn and Gemeda further stated that government officials did not properly consult with the protest leaders to understand the people’s concerns.

    On February 26, 2017, OMN learnt that Ethiopian prosecutors brought multiple criminal charges against OMN, Jawar Mohammed, prominent opposition leaders Dr. Merera Gudina and Dr. Berhanu Nega, and Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT). OMN condemns all charges. Criminal charges against OMN include violations of articles 32/1/a, 38, and 34/1 of Ethiopia’s Penal Code, which allege that OMN attempted to violently overthrow the government, and a violation of article 5/1/b of Ethiopia’s Anti-Terrorism Proclamation 652/01 alleging that OMN fueled recent wide-spread protests in Ethiopia by serving as a communication tool for Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and Ginbot 7, which are labeled as terrorist organizations by the ruling party.

    Mr. Mohammed is charged alongside Dr. Merera and Dr. Nega for breaching Penal Code articles 32/1/a & b, 27/1, and 238/1 & 2. Despite their ideological differences, the three men are accused of conspiring to overthrow the government by instigating the grassroots protests that shook the nation in 2014, 2015 and 2016. A guilty verdict for the charges against Mr. Mohammed holds a sentence of life imprisonment or death.

    The criminal charges do not contain specific facts linking OMN or Mr. Mohammed to the criminal actions alleged. The evidence of guilt is barely comprehensible. Tellingly, the first two pages of the criminal charges are one long incoherent sentence with no punctuation.

    Oromos throughout Oromia rely on OMN for nonpartisan, independent news about events in their homeland because a reliable independent media source is unavailable in the country. OMN condemns any action taken against our viewers in retaliation for watching our broadcasts in Ethiopia or elsewhere.

    OMN seeks to offer thought-provoking, contextual, and nuanced coverage of critical public interest issues thereby bringing much needed attention to under-reported stories in the region. Our goal is to create a strong and sustainable multilingual newsroom that will serve as a reliable source of information about the Oromo people, the Ethiopian state, and the greater Horn of Africa region.

    The Oromo Leadership Convention (OLC) held its second meeting in the City of Washington, District of Columbia, March 10 - 12, 2017. The Convention was opened with the blessing of representatives of the main religious groups in Oromo society and concluded after successfully deliberating on the current situation in Oromia and passing landmark resolutions that affirm the unity of all Oromo and underscore the need to strengthen institutions of democracy.

    This Convention was attended by over 600 religious, civic and community leaders from across North America and other parts of the world, political organizations, professional and civil societies, artists, businessmen, scholars, veterans of the struggle and Oromo notables who have contributed to the advancement of the Oromo cause in their respective fields.

    Considering the gravity of the deteriorating situation in Oromia and the tremendous suffering that the state of emergency has imposed on our people, the Convention focused on taking action.

    1. Based on the proposal recommended by the Task Force on Humanitarian Assistance, the Convention established a non-governmental organization known as HIRPHA International (Humanitarian Initiative to Relieve the Plight in the Horn of Africa) to assist in the effort deliver coordinated and efficient aid to the victims of the Ethiopian government.

    2. Accepting the proposal of the Task Force on Diplomacy and Advocacy, the Convention established a research and policy center that will assist the efforts to conduct diplomatic action in a strategic and coordinated manner with the view to assisting the struggle to end tyrannical rule in Ethiopia. This center will be named Organized Diplomacy and Advocacy Action in the Horn of Africa (ODAAHA).

    3. Recognizing that the Task Force of Experts presented revised documents known as the Declaration of Oromo Unity and National Aspirations and Oromo Charter of Freedom, Justice, Dignity and Human Rights reflect the views of the delegates regarding the foundation of Oromo unity and a common ground for political action, the Convention adopted the revised documents as its official documents.

    4. Recognizing that the need for further discussions to internalize the contents of these documents, the Convention recommended them to Oromo communities around the world for studying and discussions. The Task Force of Experts was named as a Commission of Experts to spearhead the effort.

    Considering that the Oromo struggle needs robust, functioning and autonomous democratic and civil society institutions, the Convention discussed new agendas proposed by the OLC Executive Committee. The new agenda emphasized the need for enhancing women’s participation and youth engagement in the Oromo nation’s future and initiated an effort to create professional associations.

    After thoroughly discussing two concept papers, the delegates recommended launching a community-wide conversation with a view of taking concrete steps to enhance women and youth participation in Oromo affairs within a reasonable period.

    Recognizing the demand of the Oromo people, the Convention stressed the importance of the unity of purpose among Oromo political organizations for the success of our people’s struggle. The participants recommended to all political parties to continue to work together to find ways to mobilize our people for the bitter struggle ahead and redouble efforts to expand the arena of interparty collaboration, build democratic institutions, and fortify self-rule capabilities.

    Recognizing the gravity of the time, Convention participants decided to increase their support for the Oromo struggle and to join hands in solidarity with all freedom loving peoples to fight against the repressive TPLF regime. In view of the continued suffering of our people, the Convention, once again, condemns in the strongest of terms the continued killings, mass incarcerations, enforced disappearances, and persecution of Oromo. The delegates also demanded an immediate end to the State of Emergency that has made life impossible for our compatriots.

    Concerned with the continued impunity of the Ethiopian regime, the Convention, once again, calls upon the international community to live up to its commitment not to “never again” allow mass killings from occurring again by demanding the establishment of an independent and thorough investigation into the mass killings, especially at the Irreecha festival on October 2, 2016, and the other crimes perpetrated by Ethiopian security forces against innocent people.

    Finally, the Oromo Leadership Convention extends its call to all peoples in Ethiopia to redouble their efforts to end totalitarian rule in the country.

  • Tensions flare as 82 dead at Ethiopia dump

    Some 82 people are dead after a landslide at an Ethiopian rubbish dump crashed through makeshift homes, burying the inhabitants

    Police are stopping people from entering the site of a landslide at an Ethiopian rubbish dump after bereaved families tussled with rescue workers there, blaming the government for a slow response to a disaster that killed 82 people this weekend.

    Relatives pushed and shoved the handful of emergency workers, angrily accusing them of delays and saying dozens of people were still missing after Saturday's landslide at the 50-year-old Reppi dump in the capital of Addis Ababa.

    "My nephew! My sister's son!" one elderly woman sobbed as she held aloft a picture inside one of several hastily erected funeral tents packed with mourners.

    After a run of deadly protests last year, authorities will be anxious to tamp down any sign of dissent that could become a catalyst for wider demonstrations.

    "Nobody is helping us. We are doing all the digging ourselves. It is shameful," Kaleab Tsegaye, a relative of one victim told Reuters.

    Earlier in the morning, relatives shoved workers away from the site.

    The situation seemed calmer in the afternoon but one police officer told Reuters that angry residents were still barring police from helping look for bodies. Dozens of police officers stood at the fringes of the dump.

    A police officer told Reuters 17 more bodies had been recovered on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 82 so far.

    "An overwhelming number are being buried without being identified," she said, declining to give her name.

    Hundreds of people live on the dump, the city's only landfill site, scavenging for food and items they can sell such as recyclable metal. The landslide destroyed 49 homes.

    Ethiopia is one of Africa's fastest-growing economies, but the drive to industrialise has also stoked discontent among those who feel left behind.

    In October, the government imposed a national state of emergency after more than 500 people were killed in protests in Oromiya region as anger over a development scheme sparked broader anti-government demonstrations.

    በአንድ ወቅት ፊሽካው ተነፍቷል ያሰኙት እነኚሁ የትግሉ ጋሪጣ የሆኑት ጥቂት ግለሰቦች ማንነትና ስራቸውን የአስተናጋጅ ሃገርና የኢሕአግ ሰራዊት ጠንቅቆ የሚያውቀው ጉዳይ መሆኑንን የዘነጉት በቁጥር አንድና ሁለት የሚባል ሰራዊት ቀርቶ ወሬ ነጋሪ የሌላቸው ምሁራን ተብዪ ግንቦቴዎች ገንዘብ ከመለመንና ከመወሻከት ያለፈ ለኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ የሚጠቅም አጀንዳ የሌላቸው በደሞዝ የሚተዳደሩ ፣የሌሎችን የትግል እንቅስቃሴ በመውረስ የራሳቸው አስመስለው የሚናገሩ ጸረ ትግል አቋም ያላቸው አጋጣሚዎችን የሚጠቀሙ (opportunist) ናቸው።

    የግንቦት ሰባቱ ቋሚ ደሞዝተኛና ተቀጣሪው አበበ ቦጋለ እጅግ የሚያሳዝን በታጋዮችና ነጻ አውጪዎች ስም በመነገድ የፖለቲካ ትርፍ ለማግኘት ከአሳዳሪው በተሰጠው የተለያየ የስልጣን ስም በመጠቀም የተስዉትን ታጋዮች ስም በማንሳት እጃችን አለበት፣እኛ ረድተናቸው ነው ፣አስታጥቀናቸው ነው፣ ጥይት ገዝተንላቸው እንጂ ከየት አመጡት ብሎ ሲናገር ስንሰማ የግንቦት 7 የታጋይ ጠላት ብቻ ሳይሆን ከወያኔ ጋር አብሮ የሚሰራ የሃገር ጠላት መሆኑን አረጋገጠልን እንጂ እንደ ሌሎቹ አላታለለንም።

    አረ ለመሆኑ የአርበኛ ጎቢን አሟሟት በተመለከተ ዘመዶቹ ተገዝተው እንደገደሉት መረጃ የደረሰው የግንቦት 7 ቱ የህዝብ ግንኙነት እንዴት ነው ታዲያ ሻለቃ መሳፍንት ጥጋቡ (ገብርዪን) ከኋላው አብሮት የነበረው የግንቦት 7ቱ እግረኛ ወያኔዎች ሳይመጡ ገና ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ድንበር በተቃረቡበት ቦታ ላይ አብረው በማፈግፈግ ላይ እያሉ በተሰጠው ተልዕኮ ከጀርባው ተመቶ የተገደለውን ታሪክ እውነታ ያልሰማው?

    ነው ወይስ ለገንዘብ መለመኛ እንዲያመቻቸው እራሱን አጠፋ መባሉን መክረውና ዘክረው ያዘጋጁት ብቻ ሳይሆን ለሁሉም ታጋዮች ቢሞቱ ወይም ቢገደሉ ተመሳሳይ ድርጅታዊ ቀመር (Formula) እንደሆነ አንባቢያን እንድትረዱልን እንፈልጋለን።

    በየጊዜው ከህዝባችን በስማችን የተሰበሰበው ገንዘብ በአስተናጋጅ ሃገር ለሚገኘው ለኢሕአግ ሰራዊትም ሆነ በጎበዝ አለቆች ለሚመራው ሕዝባዊ ሰራዊት ግንቦት 7 ከተባለው ድርጅት የተሰጠው ድጎማም ሆነ የመሳሪያ ቁሳቁስ ዕርዳታ የተቸረ ያለመኖሩን እየገለጽን በስማችን የሚደረገው ውህደትም ሆነ ጥምረት የማይመለከተን መሆኑንን እየገለጽን ዶንያ ሙሉ ወሸት የትም አያደርስም ፣በህዝብ ሰም እየነገዳችሁ የትግሉ ጋሪጣ አትሁኑ የምንልበት ጊዜ አሁን ነው።
